I bought two of these to write down recepies I see on you tube sort of at random... I set aside pages foe a table og contents in the front. They look beautiful on my shelfThis book is designed beautifully. I did think it would be larger, but I decided to use it as an address/phone number book. For those looking for a small journal it's perfect. It would be great for traveling because it won't take up a lot of space. It has an antique look about it. I love mine and it would be a darling gift as well.Beautiful book. Just smallPerfection for what I need. I'm using it as a Latin/English prayer translation book ,written in Copperplate calligraphy style and Gothic with a fountain pen. The paper needs to be the high quality it is to hold that ink. Also , as it is a small book, again very much as people would have had made for them generations ago, it has to lay flat to get the angles of the pen correct for the calligraphy. Also if any one is interested it is modeled after a c.1668 printing of L'office de la Semaine Sainte" a book regarding the rites and observances to be followed during Holy Week. The most Holy and important period in our Church calendar. I think that syncs nicely with my purpose. I will say as was noted by another reviewer that the finish is matte, a bit too much but ( it can be shined a bit by buffing it with micro fiber fine polyester and warm wax paper) I do not recommend anyone else try this unless they know the technique or are adventurous. I have done much art work over the years in paper and learned it through trail and error and error and then success. I have some book cover made in 2004 from Brown paper grocery bags treated with this as a last couple steps and they look wonderful still. Sorry, art lesson for the day. The engraving is well done, the gold leaf also could be brighter but the clasp and book binding and stitching make it all loveable anyway.L'This is just as beautiful when it arrives as it is in the picture! The paper is lined, thick, and very smooth, which makes writing in it a treat. I have a difficult time finding books where my thick gel pens don't bleed through to the next page, but this book can handle it. I have had this book for 8 months now, and it is almost filled up and time to get a new one. I won't hesitate to purchase another book like this one. I can't ever recall the lock opening on its own. I keep it in the bottom of my large purse for jotting down things I want to remember while I am running errands or at the doctors' office. It would fit in a much smaller bag, the point I am making is that it is getting stirred around with a lot of other items, but is very sturdy, remains in great shape, and it still looks beautiful too. Most notebooks I have used would have fallen apart long before now, I can't believe this beauty has lasted so long under the abuse it takes in my bag.I have no idea how I'm going to use this yet but this little book is too cute to pass up. I love the colors and it really is the perfect size to carry in your bag. I love the little locking mechanism and the cover design is beautiful. Quality materials. Would make a cherished gift for anyone.Beautiful little journal! It's perfect and just what I was looking for! It fits in my purse and I can pull it out whenever I need to write or just feel inspired to use it. It was made very well, the lock is super cute and overall would buy again!I love this journal! It's as beautiful as the picture, if not more so. One thing to note is the color is more matte in person than what it looks like in the photo, but it's just as gorgeous. It's a shame they didn't include more pictures since there are many lovely details the single photo leaves out. For instance, the page edges are printed with a delicate floral print. The tactile sensation of just holding this in your hands is amazing. It really feels like a centuries-old tome. Bear in mind this is a petite sized journal at 4x6 inches, but I bought it for that reason. There is a larger journal with a similar design sized 7.5x9.5 inches which I wouldn't mind getting someday especially after seeing how beautiful this little gem is. If you're in need of a petite journal and are smitten by the photo, I doubt you'll be sorry with this little treasure.Bought this as a replacement for red version of this notebook that I bought years ago in a bookshop.it came with damaged edges and the back is starting to show some wear and tear, after less than 6 months. The bookstore one was definitely more resilient. In retrospect I'd spend a lizzle extra to buy from the official site.However- it is just as gorgeous as the image which is why I bought it.It's ok, Much smaller than expected,so I think that it's a bit overpriced for this type of the book. You can get a normal size similar book for the same price in JL.It’s just so beautiful, beautiful quality, beautifully made. I love all paperblanks products and will keep coming back to them year after year. This one is a beautiful colour and fits so comfortably into your hand, go on treat yourself! It is well-made and attractively presented. It is sturdy with good quality paper, and I like its small convenient size. There is a useful expandable wallet inside the rear binder. This is the most beautiful and tactile note book I've ever owned. A handy size for a handbag, pocket or computer bag. This is now my go to place to get notebooks. A must buy. LOVE It!
